Debunking the Myth: Chelsea's First-Team Squad for 2024/25 Season
Social media is abuzz with claims that Chelsea have a whopping 45 first-team players for the 2024/25 season.
However, the reality is different. Several players, such as Kepa Arrizabalaga, Beach, Bergstrom, and others, including Gilchrist (loan to Sheffield United), and Gallagher (signed with Atletico Madrid), are not part of the squad. With these exclusions, the actual squad size is reduced to 25-27 players, with a few potential arrivals to be confirmed.
This clarification dispels the exaggerated claims, reflecting a more accurate squad composition for the upcoming season.
Excluded Players:
Goalkeepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Lucas Bergstrom, Eddie Beach or Djordje Petrovic
Defenders: Alfie Gilchrist (loan to Sheffield United), Trevoh Chalobah (potential permanent deal), Bashir Humphreys, Josh Acheampong, Caleb Wiley
Midfielders: Cesare Casadei, Tino Anjorin, Conor Gallagher, Omari Kellyman
Forwards: Romelu Lukaku, Tyrique George, Deivid Washington, Armando Broja, Angelo Gabriel, David Fofana, and Marc Guiu, who could still leave on loan
Ben Chilwell or Carney Chukwuemeka could still be heading away as they haven't got many chances during the pre-season so far.
Chelsea's first-team squad isn't as large as social media claims. Learn the truth about the actual number of players heading into the 2024/25 season.
