'People haven’t seen the best of me': Mykhailo Mudryk's message to Chelsea fans

Blonde hair, a look of an angel, but inside a hidden beast. His neck tattoo ''Talent ain't enough'' suggests he is not shy of hard work. Mudryk doesn't give up easily, he is persistent, passionate, tenacious and relentless.

Speaking to Chelsea FC, Mudryk believes he can still turn things around and prove that he can be the best: ‘People haven't seen the best of me. There is still a lot more to come.'' He scored 6 goals (5 in the PL and 1 in the FA Cup) and provided 2 assists. Especially his goal against Newcastle in the FA Cup was world-class, dancing his way through defenders, and rounding the goalkeeper before putting the ball into the back of the net.

It's been tough 18 months for Mykhailo Mudryk since joining Chelsea in 2023. A lot of social media criticism, and the pressure is enormous to justify his hefty price tag, but many people judge superficially and don't realize that some players need more time to adapt before they produce their best. A new country, language, culture, and Mudryk's homeland Ukraine inflicted by the war - all those aspects can somehow influence a player's adaptation.

Mudryk's talent is indisputable. He is one of the biggest talents since Andriy Shevchenko and was a key Ukrainian player in the Euro qualifiers. He knows what it requires to reach his goal: ‘You can try too hard, so you have to find a balance between that and not trying at all. When you find this balance, you will find success. I am confident you will see the best of me over time.’

Comparing Mudryk to Doku and Martinelli, there is a lot of work to do for Mudryk to improve. He needs to gain his confidence back if he wants to continue in Chelsea. This season will be decisive and Mudryk has all weapons at his disposal, he just have to use them correctly with the help of Enzo Maresca.
